It is that time of year again! We will not be having two meetings in November or December due to the holidays. So, we are going to make the most out of our two remaining meetings of the year.

On Dec. 15, The Hendersonville Lions Club held their second eye screening at Community Child Care in Hendersonville. The group scanned a total of 73 children. The club works to provide free eye screenings in area schools and reise funds to help those in need. The screenings help identify eye conditions likely to cause amblyopia.

Thank you again to George Chism for organizing this event. We would also like to thank our new club members for volunteering and making this a successful event. It is the team effort that makes this successful.

The Hendersonville Lions Club held their first Eye Screeing on October 15th at the Goddard School.  A total of 58 kids were screened.

A big THANK YOU goes out to George Chism for organizing a great day helping the community.

Darrell Woodcock, President

The Hendersonville Lions Club will be selling pumpkins in order to raise money for their Eye Glasses Program.  The Taste of Hendersonville was the kick off for the fundraising effort, led by Darrell Woodcock.  The club has sold enough pumpkins and gourds to provide a pair of eye glasses to someone in the community!  Great going guys!

Blake Wilson was the winner of our putting contest Friday night at Relay for Life.  Blake was the highlight of the night (besides raising $80,000 for cancer research) and hopefully will be able to make it to our next meeting to accept the prize.
